marigold in the sunny window
bringer of all things simple and domestic
leave your peace with me
your yellow and orange blossom
your pungent scent
cheer me as I keep my home
tidying the kitchen - washing the breakfast dishes
and when at evening I turn at last to rest
gift me with your charm once more
when I rise at morn.

You adorn the year with your bounty;
your paths drip with fruitful rain.
The meadows of the wilderness also drip;
the hills are robed with joy.
The pastures are clothed with flocks,
the valleys blanketed with grain;
they cheer and sing for joy.
Psalm 65:12-14

Beautiful photo & thoughts. Marigolds - so easy to grow and always cheery. I, too, am grateful for the beauty God has graced us with in these simplest of flowers. Have a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteMarigolds - one of the few flowers I can grow that our deer won't eat! Lovely photo; pleasant words!
