I often walk around a little pond on my lunch break and on Friday I noticed that the autumn foliage is just beautiful this year.

On Tuesday evening I went to my daughter's house after work. I cooked dinner for them as my daughter is going back to school and could use a bit of a break. I brought a pumpkin with me and told them of my habit of creating a "gratefulness pumpkin." Every day you write something on it that makes you happy or that you are grateful for. My daughter sent me this picture of Natalie writing on the pumpkin Wednesday morning before school.

I spent the weekend at my daughter's house. We went for a "leaf walk" in the back woods.
Abby had her journal with her and found a walking stick!

Verne will be 10 next week!
He randomly gave his mother a big hug!
Once she started hugging him back he was ready to back up.
Ten year old boys don't give too many hugs.

When you walk the woods with children every little mushroom is a magical fairy land.

I love those reds and oranges in the trees! Its rare to see red in my area. Mostly yellows and gold with a little orange here and there. !0 year old boys are fuuny. I used to get what I called "head butt hugs" His head came in and made contact but he'd hold his body away from me preventing me giving him a good full on hug. We still tease him about it. Great idea for the pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteYour walk with the grandkids sounds lovely and yes, hugs from 9 or 10 year old boys are blessings.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome to spend time with your grands and get the pic of Verne giving mama a hug. TEN?!! I remember when he wa born!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pond pic and of abby walking in the woods and yay for Natalie being intentional about giving thanks. I love all of your blessings.
The trees are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou take every hug from the boys and cherish them (ask a grandma of two teenage boys!).
Walks in the woods are always fun!
What a lovely view of the pond. Our fall color isn't quite as far along, yet, but we're seeing it start. I love the pumpkin idea and how neat to see your granddaughter using it. My 12-year-old grandson doesn't hug much, either. I miss that but try to respect it. My guys went through that but eventuality became huggers again as they got older.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are absolutely gorgeous. Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada ❤️ 😊 🇨🇦
