Titus two Tuesday

~ ~ ~

In the garden out and about

I have been wandering about in the back garden this morning with my coffee, cutting zinnias here and

there to place in a tiny old fashioned vase.

There is nothing quite so charming or welcoming than to see a simple bouquet of

flowers on the kitchen table.

Today there is a pot of beans on the back burner, a cornbread in the oven, and a fresh potato salad ready to pull out of the fridge for dinner.

I am planning to make some quick refrigerator pickles as well.

I am not a big pickle fan but my husband loves them.

the dump truck

My grandson has a little dump truck.

We loaded it with sea shells, sticks, and small stones

and made a pile across the yard under the apple tree.

Because I will never forget you.

Yesterday a child came out to wonder

caught a dragonfly inside a jar.

through the looking glass

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I found an old brick while walking the shore of a morning.

What is it about a circle that makes us look through?

As if we could see another world on the other side...

or at least another perspective.

my man of a morning

Saturday morning found us walking the beach early-ish

While a few family's got a head start on the steamy day

laying blankets and adding ice to the coolers

Joe and I walked with our toes in the water and shared easy conversation.

in the pink

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Spring has finally arrived

It's still rather chilly in the mornings but the

trees are pink and chartreuse.

We are able to walk the island without a jacket

and all seems hopeful once again.

consider the lily

Lily of the valley

t

Consider the lilies, how they grow:

they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you

even Solomon in all his glory

was not arrayed like one of these.
